Michael Collins is a visionary financial executive and business strategist whose leadership continues to shape Nigeria’s public sector finance ecosystem. As the Chief Executive Officer of MCO Penny Limited, he brings a legacy of excellence, innovation, and results-driven execution from the highest levels of financial services leadership.
Before taking the helm at MCO Penny, Michael served as Senior Vice President at Page Financials sitting at the highest executive table, where he led public sector strategy, business expansion, and market penetration with measurable impact. His tenure was marked by strong performance in enterprise growth, channel development, and product innovation.
At LAPO Microfinance Bank, he held an executive role overseeing entire business operations across the bank’s public sector segment. Under his leadership, the bank recorded an 84% contribution to profit from his division and clinched awards for Most Profitable Segment for three consecutive years. His strategic oversight at the executive level enabled cross-functional alignment, increased efficiency, and consistent bottom-line growth.
Michael’s career also spans impactful roles at First Bank of Nigeria, First City Monument Bank, Credit Direct, and Zedvance Finance institutions where he gained deep expertise in public sector banking, lending, product development, and financial inclusion, further reinforcing his reputation as a results-oriented leader.
Beyond his corporate roles, Michael is a highly sought-after consultant, known for building and designing bespoke financial products from the ground up delivering tailored solutions that have accelerated performance across multiple financial institutions.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from POMA International Business University, an MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and is currently pursuing a second MBA at Rome Business School to deepen his global leadership perspective.
